DETROIT (FOX 2) – We are in for a much quieter day after a series of heavy storms yesterday, with wind gusts of over 110 km/h!

The storms left hundreds of thousands of people in the state without power. View the list of school closures here.

Today will remain warm and humid, but temperatures will drop with some showers in the morning and some scattered thunderstorms later in the day.

Just look at the radar images. They predict some wet weather today, but heavy storms are *not* likely.

Temperatures will drop a little further on Thursday, with a recovery in the forecast for Friday. Storms will return as the heat rises.

A cooler holiday weekend is coming, with temperatures around 21 degrees Celsius from Monday.
