Two billionaire daughters reach US Open quarterfinals

Topline

America’s ultra-rich continue to be well represented at the top of the tennis world after Jessica Pegula qualified for the US Open on Monday, teaming up with another billionaire daughter in the quarterfinals.

Key Facts

The 30-year-old Pegula, who is ranked sixth and defeated Diana Schnaider in three sets, is the daughter of Terry Pegula, owner of the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.

No. 13 Emma Navarro, 23, the daughter of former Citigroup vice president Ben Navarro, reached the quarterfinals of the US Open after beating third-ranked Coco Gauff in three sets on Sunday.

Pegula will play the winner of Tuesday’s fourth-round match between Poland’s top seed Iga Swiatek and Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova, while Navarro takes on Spain’s No. 26 Paula Badosa.

It is the seventh time Pegula has reached the quarterfinals of any of the four majors in her career, but she has never gone further than that.
