Week 2 of the college football season kicks off with a huge, high-profile matchup. The No. 3 Texas Longhorns travel to Ann Arbor to take on the No. 10 Michigan Wolverines.

Both teams were in the College Football Playoff in 2023. While the Wolverines won the national championship last season, the Horns may be the better team in 2024. Both teams started the new season with victories in Week 1, albeit in different ways. Texas defeated Colorado State 52-0 and Michigan struggled to a 30-10 victory over Fresno State.

This is only the second meeting between these two college football blue bloods. The first was in the Rose Bowl after the 2004 season. This game, while still early in the season, has huge CFP implications. According to the Allstate Playoff Predictor, Texas would have an 81% chance of reaching the playoffs with a win and a 51% chance with a loss. Michigan needs the win more. Should the Wolverines lose, they only have a 15% chance of returning to the CFP.
