Michigan availability injury report vs. Texas: QB Jack Tuttle questionable

play

Michigan football has almost everyone available for its top 10 matchup against Texas on Saturday afternoon in Ann Arbor.

Michigan has three players on the Big Ten Conference’s availability list: the Wolverines are missing safeties Jaden Mangham and Rod Moore and wide receiver Joe Taylor.

Seventh-year graduate quarterback Jack Tuttle, last year’s backup, is listed as questionable after missing the opener. Moore (torn ACL) and Taylor (undisclosed) also missed last week; Mangham is new to the injury report.

Tuttle was in contention for the starting quarterback position along with starter Davis Warren and backup Alex Orji, but he was injured during the offseason.

No. 3 Texas will be without running backs CJ Baxter and Christian Clark, who were both injured in the preseason and missed the season, and backup quarterback Trey Owens.

The Longhorns won their first game 52-0 against Colorado State, featuring a strong offense led by Ohio State transfer quarterback Quinn Ewers and capable playmakers like wide receiver Isaiah Bond and the running back duo of Jaydon Blue and Jerrick Gibson.

Moore, who has been named team captain, is expected to miss his entire senior season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered during spring training.

Mangham, a junior, transferred from Michigan State in May. He played in 11 games for the Spartans last season, collecting 53 tackles and a team-best four interceptions.

Taylor, a veteran receiver for Chelsea, is out with an undisclosed injury.
