The Democratic National Committee on Saturday flew four planes carrying banners with anti-Trump messages over American football games in four key swing states in the upcoming election, it announced.

The four stadiums where the banners will be displayed are the University of Michigan’s Michigan Stadium, the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium, the Pennsylvania State University’s Beaver Stadium and the University of Wisconsin’s Camp Randall Stadium.

Photos on social media show the DNC made good on its promise in Pennsylvania.

The planes flying over Michigan and Penn State are attempting to tie Trump and running mate J.D. Vance to the far-right manifesto Project 2025, created by the Heritage Foundation. Trump has repeatedly rejected Project 2025 and says he does not plan to implement its full slate of policies if he wins the election. However, figures who worked in Trump’s first administration have contributed to the project.

One of the banners also aims to capitalize on one of college football’s most historic rivalries. The plane flying over Michigan will display a banner that reads, “J.D. Vance (loves) Ohio State (plus) Project 2025.” Michigan and Ohio State are considered the fiercest rivalry in sports, and Vance spent much of his childhood in Ohio, attended Ohio State for his undergrad and claims to be a lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Vance previously revealed that he told Trump his loyalty to the Buckeyes could affect the former president’s chances in Michigan in November, when Trump selected Vance as his running mate.

“When he first asked me to run for VP, I thought, well, you know, hopefully we don’t lose Michigan by 900 votes, because you’re going to regret that. Because it’s probably just a thousand p—d-off Wolverine fans who wouldn’t vote for a Buckeye. But I think most Michigan residents will be able to put aside sports rivalries and put country first, which is obviously the most important thing for all of us,” Vance said during a performance at OutKick’s “The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.”

The Democrats’ latest campaign ploy comes just three days before the first presidential debate between Trump and Harris on ABC News, as Harris has fallen significantly in some polls in recent weeks, particularly in key states at stake.

According to Nate Silver’s latest forecast of 538 on Friday, Trump would gain ground on Harris in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Georgia.

Silver released his latest election prediction, writing on his Substack“The forecast is still in the toss-up range, but Trump’s odds are the highest they’ve been since July 30,” Silver wrote. Silver’s model shows that Trump’s Electoral College odds have risen from 52.4% to 58.2% since last Thursday. Harris’ odds, meanwhile, have fallen from 47.3% to 41.6%.

Current odds on Polymarket indicate that Trump has a 50% chance of winning in November, while Harris has only a 48% chance.

A recent series of Fox News statewide polls in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina showed Harris leading by 1 percentage point in Arizona and 2 points in Georgia and Nevada, while Trump led by 1 point in North Carolina. All are within the margin of sampling error.

Trump will spend Saturday at a personal rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, about a two-hour drive from here, where the Wisconsin Badgers play South Dakota on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Harris visited Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which is about a two-hour drive from Penn State’s game against Bowling Green. Harris welcomed the support of former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Rep. Liz Cheney during a visit to a spice shop called Penzeys Spices.

If Trump’s positive polling trends pay off and the DNC’s air campaign strategy doesn’t work, Vance has suggested that he and Trump visit Ohio State’s Ohio Stadium in person for the Buckeyes’ upcoming game against Michigan on Nov. 30.

“Well, let’s go to the Ohio State-Michigan game, assuming we win, because I bet I can get some nice tickets as the VP-elect, and we’ll be in a celebratory mood,” Vance said on OutKick. “And look, it’s going to be a big game this year. I think it’s going to determine the final seeding in the College Football Playoff. I mean, how both teams can actually make the playoffs. I know Michigan, you know, people don’t think that highly of them this year, but you never know, because they’re always a good program. So, we’ll see, guys. I feel really good about the Buckeyes. I feel really good about the Bengals.”
