WEATHER DISCUSSION: High temperatures and dry conditions will become somewhat normal this weekend in north central Montana. High temperatures will remain warm in the mid to upper 80s and low to mid 90s with low temperatures back in the 50s tonight. Increasing clouds this afternoon will give way to mostly cloudy and overcast skies tonight with a chance of showers, primarily in central and SW MT tonight. Expect gradually increasing winds through Monday morning.

An upper level shortwave will continue to develop isolated showers and storms across Southwest MT that will begin to dissipate as they move across the plains tonight. Regional wildfires continue to send smoke up across Southwest and North Central MT, expect foggy conditions overnight and Monday.

Isolated showers will continue across north-central MT tonight into Monday morning as this short wave moves east. Drier conditions will settle in for Monday afternoon, with increasing winds. Increased winds with gusts up to 35 mph possible and low relative humidity levels dropping into the teens are causing critical fire concerns along the Rocky Mountain Front. A Red Flag Warning (pink) will be in effect for Monday afternoon until 8:00 p.m.

Another minor upper air disturbance, along with increasing moisture, will bring another round of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms to the region Tuesday afternoon. Cooler temperatures and widespread precipitation will be present through the second half of the week, with high temperatures back in the 60s on Thursday.

SUNDAY EVENING: Widespread fog. Increasing cloud cover with lows in the 50s/60s and 5 to 10 mph winds increasing through Monday morning.

MONDAY: Widespread fog and smoke patches. Mostly sunny, then mostly clear with highs in the 80s and 90s and lows in the 50s. Winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
