“It was a frustrating debate because the moderators too often interfered with gotcha moments, while they did not want to put pressure on Harris.

It was a Bizzaro world. Ukraine has the right to territorial integrity, but our border is wide open. People are too poor to take a bus to another state for an abortion, but the economy is strong.

But the counterfactuals were the most annoying.

What would Putin do if Trump were president? He was, and Putin did nothing; Hamas did nothing while Trump was in power.

The trick is a $50,000 tax credit for new businesses, while 67% will not survive after five years and the rest will never qualify.

But most importantly, the moderators didn’t hold Harris back or leave him in his slippers.

There were times when Trump should have pursued her outright false answers and not dwelled on things that happened years ago (I like that he said, “That’s old news,” but that was after he’d spent too much time on it). From an economics perspective, I’m more concerned about government picking winners and losers, crowding out private capital, and ultimately extinguishing animal instincts.”
