    How tall is Kamala Harris? Compare her height to Donald Trump.

    While a presidential debate is an unparalleled arena for rival candidates to present their credentials and policy proposals, it is also a performance where images can sometimes overwhelm even the smoothest lines.

    Before Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump took the stage for their first debate Tuesday night, Trump took to social media to comment on Harris’ height, saying no adjustments would need to be made during the debate.

    Harris was seen walking to the stage in flat shoes.

    “There should be no boxes or artificial lifts during my upcoming debate with Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump said in the post, calling such adjustments “a form of deception.”

    Harris is 5′ 4 1/4″, and Trump is 6’3″, giving the two candidates a significant height difference. However, there has been a back-and-forth over Harris’ height, with Trump ridiculing her relatively modest stature even though she is two inches taller than the average American woman.

    Harris confirmed her height earlier this year in an interview with Today host Katie Couric.

    “I’m 5’4″ — sometimes 5’4,” Harris told Couric. “And with heels — which I always wear — I’m 5’7, thank you very much.”

    It’s not the first time the Republican candidate has criticized Harris’ appearance or personality. Often, these criticisms are interpreted as subtle sexist attacks, which he has often leveled against female opponents.

    According to the New York Times, Harris did not comment on whether she requested a ride.
