Fox News voter panel says Harris won debate

Voters who attended a Fox News Digital panel responding to the debate said Vice President Kamala Harris left the event with a victory.

When asked who they thought won the debate, 12 panelists raised their hand for Harris, while only five said they thought former President Donald Trump won.

When asked why they thought Harris had won, many voters said Trump didn’t know how to handle his new opponent in the race.

“He’s still thinking about running against Joe Biden,” one voter said.

Another voter criticized Trump for not coming to the podium with fresh ideas.

“Trump was so bad, he’s like an old suit from 1987. He repeats himself, says the same things, and she’s refreshing because she’s different,” the voter said. “I think if he had a different line of attack with her, it would have been more effective.”

“I think she won the debate from my perspective because it was so bad and it just sounds so repetitive, but I think she’s weak. She’s weak on the substance and she’s weak on the facts,” the voter added.

But the panel didn’t only bring good news for Harris: Only a few participants indicated that the vice president met their expectations.

“She wasn’t very specific when certain things were asked,” one voter said. “She knows how to tug at your heartstrings. She knows how to dramatically touch the hearts of Americans while avoiding the hot-button issues.”

The debate may be the only one between the two candidates before Election Day in November. It comes after President Biden’s disastrous debate performance earlier this year, which led to a movement to throw him out of the race and force him to withdraw from the race with just 56 days until most voters cast their ballots.
