Just one day after Dave Grohl announced that he had welcomed a baby girl “outside” of his marriage to wife, Jordyn Blum, reports are that the Foo Fighters rocker is already preparing for the end of his relationship.

According to a People source, Grohl hired a divorce attorney for the shocking baby announcement. This new tidbit seems to contradict Grohl’s Instagram statement in which he said, “I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything I can to earn their trust and forgiveness.”

Grohl, 55, and Blum, 48, married in 2003 and have daughters Violent, Harper and Ophelia together. According to the magazine, the couple met in 2001 while Blum was working on an MTV show.

Grohl was previously married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood, but they divorced after two years in 1997.

Before his Instagram post, Grohl had not been active on the platform since Halloween 2023, when he posted a photo promoting his memoir, The Narrator: Stories about life and musicShortly after he announced the indiscretion, People reports that Violet, who is also a singer, has apparently deactivated her own Instagram account.

Amid the aftermath, Grohl made comments about Blum during a 2007 interview with the defunct Q magazine have appeared again.

According to the New York PostGrohl told the magazine, “And at the end of the night I was all upset and I was staring at her and thinking, ‘You’re my future ex-wife.'” He made the comment about his “future ex-wife” when recalling the first time he met Blum at a bar in Los Angeles.

In 2003, Grohl said Teenage people Blum was “just about” the first person he had been truly honest with. “Now I have nothing to hide,” he said. “If you’re not trying to be someone else, being honest is easy.”

It’s still unclear who Grohl fathered the child with, but in his statement he said he will be “a loving and supportive parent to her.”
