Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, has been identified as the suspect arrested after he allegedly pointed an AK-47 assault rifle at former President Trump while he was golfing, according to law enforcement sources.

Routh regularly proclaimed his role as a benefactor on social media and advocated left-wing positions.

His LinkedIn page shows that he attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University but moved to Hawaii sometime around 2018.

Routh describes himself on LinkedIn as “mechanically minded” and enjoys “ideas, inventions and creative projects with an artistic flair.”

According to sources, Routh was spotted by Secret Service agents near the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach with an AK-47.

The officers opened fire on him, but he fled. Routh was later arrested on I-95 by local police.

Routh is the owner of Camp Box Honolulu, a shed-building company with few positive reviews. Although Routh had not posted anything to his X account for a year, he has regularly criticized politicians including Trump, current President Joe Biden and celebrities like Bruno Mars.

Many of his responses are nonsensical, including one directed at X’s owner Elon Musk, in which he appeared to consider buying a rocket from the billionaire. “I would like to buy a rocket from you. I want to load it with a nuclear warhead for Putin’s bunker in the Black Sea to kill him. Can you give me a price? It may be old and used as non-returnable,” Routh wrote.

Routh was a supporter of Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley, according to one of his posts encouraging the Republican presidential candidates to continue their races. “You can’t give up. Why. You have to stay on the ballot until the end. You have to fight. You have to keep giving speeches and pushing through to Election Day, regardless of the election results. Don’t give up. Stand with Nikki and keep working. Never give up,” he wrote.

Routh is also a staunch supporter of Ukraine and Taiwan in their respective conflicts with Russia and China. He claims on X that he tried to “sell” the idea of ​​sending former Afghan soldiers to fight for Ukraine in Russia, but was rejected multiple times before giving up after six months.

He also visited Kiev and declared that he would be ready to fight at the front if he was allowed to do so.
