At 5:20 p.m. Saturday, the National Weather Service issued a report indicating that severe thunderstorms would continue in Steuben County until 5:45 p.m.

The storms are forecast to bring coin-sized hail (1.9 centimeters) and wind gusts up to 64 km/h.

“At 5:19 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a severe thunderstorm near West Cameron, or 9 miles east of Hornell, moving northeast at 10 mph,” the weather service said. “Strong wind gusts could knock down tree limbs and blow over loose objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.”
