    Hey sis, go sis: Ilona Maher channeled her inner Lady Marmalade for Soul Train Night on “Dancing with the Stars” last night.

    The Olympic rugby star from Burlington danced in the show’s third round of competition on Monday, after no new episode last week.

    This week, each star performed routines inspired by the music variety show “Soul Train.” Actress Rosie Perez, who appeared on the show in the 1980s, was a guest judge.

    After seeing the biggest improvement in her scores among all celebrities on Oscars Night, Maher said she wanted to improve further.

    “I’ve never liked complacency,” Maher said. “Even in rugby I never want to get complacent. I’m always looking to just get better.”

    Ilona Maher and her partner Alan Bersten danced a foxtrot to “Lady Marmalade” by Labelle.

    The bronze medalist said it was special to perform to the song, which references the famous Moulin Rouge in Paris, France, because she visited the cabaret while in the city during the Olympics.

    “I’ve always loved that song,” Maher said. “The versions I grew up with say they’re going to the Moulin Rouge, and this summer I got to go to the Moulin Rouge with my teammates, and it was so much fun.”

    Ilona Maher scored a 30/40 last night for her foxtrot on “Dancing with the Stars.”

    Carrie Ann Inaba and guest judge Rosie Perez each gave her eights out of ten, while Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli gave her sevens.

    Maher finished in a tie for fourth place alongside Danny Amendola, Phaedra Parks and Stephen Nedoroscik.

    Who was eliminated from ‘DWTS’ last night?

    There was no elimination on “Dancing with the Stars” last night, but there will be a double elimination on tonight’s episode.

    The couples’ judges scores and fan votes from Soul Train Night and Tuesday’s Hair Metal Night will be combined to determine which two stars will be eliminated.

    “Dancing with the Stars” airs live Tuesday night on ABC and Disney+. It’s also available for next-day streaming on Hulu.

    There are two episodes this week because there was no new episode last Tuesday. The next episode airs tonight, October 8 at 8pm EST. The show will air one episode again next week on Tuesday evening.

    Who is Ilona Maher?

    Ilona Maher is a professional rugby sevens player and 2024 Olympic bronze medalist from Burlington, Vermont. She also previously competed in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

    She is known for promoting body positivity and empowerment online, where she has amassed more than six million followers on Instagram and TikTok.

    The 28-year-old is a graduate of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut, where she played rugby and studied nursing.
