Maxx Crosby makes it clear he’s not being traded anywhere, period

As for the rampant speculation surrounding a potential trade for Las Vegas Raiders EDGE Maxx Crosby, it’s time for Detroit Lions fans to heed Van Halen’s words.

“Dream another dream, this dream is over.”

Although Lions fans on social media have all but demanded that GM Brad Holmes trade for Crosby, that isn’t happening.

In the 90-second clip, Crosby effectively insults anyone who thinks he wants to leave Las Vegas and calls out all the false speculation about possible trades.

“I need to hear from these clowns talking online and on the Pat McAfee Show saying, ‘Something’s going on,’ they’re speaking on my behalf and telling me to stand on the sidelines when I have a high ankle sprain, Crosby said. “These clowns sit in a carriage and tell me what to do.”

Crosby, who played collegiately at Eastern Michigan and is from the Detroit area, became more animated and excited as he continued:

“But the reality is that I’m getting more and more meters and I’m trying to do well so I can get back on the field. Everyone knows my intentions, but they try to speak for me. (Expletive) if you talk to me and you know what’s going on, we can have a conversation, but don’t mention my name if you don’t know what’s going on.

Crosby wasn’t done yet.

“These guys (Raiders teammates) know I would take a bullet for them. You have clowns online and talking… it’s embarrassing. Don’t speak for me. I’m going to speak for my boys and that’s all I care about.

That bothers me, because now I absorb a lot of heat and I can do it. I’ve experienced that. But don’t talk about me if you don’t know what’s going on. You are speaking for me, or talking about the organization.”

Crosby concluded:

“Come on brother, you know where I want to be. Do you think I want to be somewhere else? I got this (expletive) tattooed on my body. I don’t want to go anywhere. Ultimately, it’s just funny. A lot of people have a lot to say, even though they don’t actually know what’s going on.”

The Raiders are 2-3 after losing to the Broncos in Week 5, but are just one game away from a playoff spot in the very turbulent AFC. Crosby has never even hinted at wanting a trade, unlike teammate Davante Adams.

Not that the Lions would really have an interest in trading multiple first-round picks for Crosby, if he were even made available for a trade. Dream another dream…
