Donald Trump is suing CBS over Kamala Harris’ ’60 Minutes’ interview

WASHINGTON – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump sued CBS on Thursday, alleging that an interview with his Democratic rival Kamala Harris aired on the news program “60 Minutes” in early October and that the alleged lawsuit was misleading, a lawsuit alleges.

The complaint, filed in federal court in the Northern District of Texas, alleges that the network aired two different responses from Harris in response to a question about the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Kamala Harris said on “60 Minutes” that unemployment is at an all-time low for everyone. Half true

The version that aired during the “60 Minutes” program on Oct. 6 did not include what the lawsuit calls a “word salad” response from Harris about the Biden administration’s influence on Israel’s war effort.

“Former President Trump’s repeated claims to 60 Minutes are false,” a CBS News spokesperson said. “The lawsuit Trump filed today against CBS is completely baseless and we will vigorously defend against it.”

Trump and Harris face off in what polls show will be a close race ahead of Tuesday’s US presidential election.

The lawsuit sought a jury trial and about $10 billion in damages, the filing showed. It alleges violations of a Texas law that prohibits deceptive conduct in business.

Trump has repeatedly attacked the network on the campaign trail over the episode and has threatened to revoke CBS’ broadcast license if elected. CBS has said Trump has withdrawn from his own planned interview with “60 Minutes.”
