Today NYT Connections hints and answers emerge immediately.

Play connections

Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. Every day you get a new puzzle at midnight. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.

You will be shown a grid of 16 words. Your job is to divide them into four groups of four by discovering the connections between them. The groups can be things like clickable items, names for study participants, or words preceded by a body part.

There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that fit into more than one category. You can play the words in any order so you might see the connections between them.

Each group has a color code. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often uses puns.

Select four words that you think go together and press Send. If you make a guess and you’re wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to the right group, you might see a message saying you’re just one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which one to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with some tips and, if you’re really struggling, today’s information Connections answers. As in Word and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

It took a few minutes for my brain to make the connection between EGG and HONOR. A few seconds later I had the purple colors. It probably helped that I recently went out for sushi and saw California Rolls on the menu.

After that I was actually stuck for a while, but after I clocked the link between COYOTE and TNT, I got the green.

A guess of HORN, CLAW, HAMMER and NAIL left me with one, but changing from HORN to STIRRUP was not the right move. I was back to one when I swapped CLAW for HOOF. Eventually it became clear that HAMMER was the odd one out, as the others were basically all animal parts.

It’s no surprise that I didn’t discover the blues, given my lack of fashion knowledge, but I did eventually get there.

That’s all it takes for today Connections clues and answers. Make sure to visit my blog for tips and Monday’s game solution if you need it.

PS To keep the horror train going, here’s a nasty little slasher with a deep well of black humor. You’re next is hugely entertaining for those in the mood for some bloodshed. It’s anchored by a great leading man, and it’s a real shame that a certain actor didn’t become a much bigger star afterward:
