Senior Marathi actor Atul Parchure passed away on Monday, October 14. He was 57. India Today reported the news of his death. A few years ago he was diagnosed with cancer, which he overcame and made a full recovery. The reason behind his death is yet to be revealed.

The report added that sources close to the family confirmed that the actor breathed his last earlier today. He is survived by his mother, wife and daughter. The family has also asked for privacy during this difficult time.

Actor Supriya Pilgaonkar took to her Instagram to pay her last respects to the actor in a post. She said, “Dear friend, you shouldn’t have been like this, you fought a lot! You have endured a lot. You will always be missed. Your crazy smile will always be missed. May your soul rest in peace and the strength to endure the family’s pain.”

Eknath Shinde writes tribute

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed his condolences and shared a note in Marathi on his Instagram. It read: “Premature departure of a smart actor: someone who makes the audience laugh out loud and sometimes bring tears to their eyes. The untimely death of the always introspective class actor Atul Parchure is painful. Atul Parchure has shown his glorious acting career from Balarangbhumi. They made a unique impression in all three areas of drama, film and series. Young Turks are old extracts, relatives or shit. Okay. Be it Deshpande’s literal reading humor, Atul Parchure added deep colors with his personal qualities. They also made a great personality in Marathi and Hindi films. A stylish Marathi actor has been lost in his exit. This damage may not be filled. I am part of the family members’ grief over this relationship as one of Parchure’s thousands of fans. Atul leaves behind a remarkable body of work in Marathi and Bollywood films. He acted with stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn. On television, he showed his comedy skills in The Kapil Sharma Show.
