Talk about a weird half. It was a terrible start for Alabama’s offense and defense, but a long-range fumble gave Alabama extra possession that they did nothing with.

Jalen Milroe struggled mightily with accuracy as he targeted Ryan Williams over and over again, eventually getting picked off in the end zone.

Tennessee then missed a field goal and the Tide drove down for a score and retaliated with another back-shoulder fade to Williams in the end zone.

Alabama’s defense forced two more turnovers, and the offense misfired both times and struggled to get the ball in time.

The Tide defense held its own again, forcing another long field goal that was missed.

Alabama’s offense again failed to capitalize, stalling again and missing a long field goal to end the half.

The Tide defense had by far their best performance in four weeks, although they had some close moments early in the game with some barely missed deep balls. However, the offense is probably having its worst half of the season, with Milroe struggling with accuracy and the entire OL struggling with timing at the snap.

The Vols’ three turnovers gave alabama a lot of wiggle room that was never really taken advantage of.

It is hoped that they can find something in attack and keep up the defensive pressure in the second half.
