No. No. 2 North Dakota State won the 2024 Dakota Marker, defeating No. 1 South Dakota State 13-9. With the win, the Bison end a five-game losing streak against the Jackrabbits.

North Dakota State quarterback Cam Miller showed off his clutch gene on the final drive of the game, going 7-7 for 76 yards while rushing for six yards on the drive. All but one play on NDSU’s game-winning drive was Miller’s, including his touchdown pass to RaJa Bell.

Defensively, the Bison limited reigning Walter Payton Award winner Mark Gronowski to fewer than 100 yards passing or rushing and without a touchdown.

66 meters. That’s how far backup quarterback Chase Mason ran for a touchdown off a quarterback counter from a two-quarterback formation. Yes, Mason and reigning Walter Payton Award winner Mark Gronowski were on the field at the same time during the scoring.

The touchdown is Mason’s first of the day, coming on just his third touch. Last week, Mason scored three touchdowns on seven touches.

After the touchdown, Hunter Dustman’s extra point was blocked. South Dakota State remains one point behind. Click or tap here for live stats from the game.
