Titans QB Mason Rudolph will start against Bills while Will Levis recovers from a shoulder injury

Mason Rudolph will compete on Sunday afternoon in Buffalo.

Rudolph will lead the Tennessee Titans in their game against the Bills at Highmark Stadium with starter Will Levis still dealing with a shoulder injury, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. Levis will be inactive during the matchup.

Levis was limited in practice both Wednesday and Friday by the shoulder injury, which he first suffered in Week 4. Rudolph stepped in to lead the Titans after Levis went down in that game, going 9 of 17 for 85 yards in a blowout. win over the Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium. That was Rudolph’s only start this season.

More specifically, Levis is dealing with a grade two AC sprain in his right shoulder. according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. It is unclear how long Levis will be sidelined, although it is often considered a four to five week injury. Levis will be viewed on a week-by-week basis in the future.

Levis, the second-year quarterback from Kentucky, has largely struggled through five games this season. He has thrown for 699 yards with five touchdowns and seven interceptions while leading the Titans to a 1-5 start. Levis leads the league in revenue for six weeks. He also went 16-for-27 for just 95 yards with a touchdown and an interception in a 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts last week. Even though he played through the injury in that match, it’s clearly still bothering him and not improving.

The Titans also have quarterback Trevor Siemian available on their practice squad. Along with Levis, the Titans’ offense Sunday will also be without running back Tyjae Spears, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, and wide receiver Treylon Burks, who is out with a knee injury.

The Bills enter Sunday’s game with a 4-2 record after last week’s 23-20 win over Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. That win snapped a two-game losing skid and pushed them into first place in the AFC East.
