LANDOVER, Md. – The Washington Commanders are concerned about injuries at quarterback.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a left rib injury in the first quarter against the Carolina Panthers. The star rookie signal caller left the game and went to the locker room.

Here’s the latest on the Commanders quarterback’s status:

Jayden Daniels suffered a left rib injury in the first quarter of Washington’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Commanders initially deemed Daniels questionable to return, but he was later demoted to out.

After Washington’s 11-play, 85-yard field goal drive, Daniels walked off the field awkwardly. The commanders’ medical staff attended to him on the couch and entered the blue tent for further evaluation.

Daniels left the blue tent and tried to throw passes along the sideline but still appeared to be in pain. The team’s medical staff escorted him to the locker room.

Veteran Marcus Mariota replaced Daniels at quarterback for the Commanders. The Commanders were up 10-0 when Daniels opted out of the game.

Washington extended its lead to 27-0 at halftime.

Daniels returned to the sideline sweating in the second half and was seen smiling and waving to the crowd as the Commanders enjoyed a comfortable lead.
