A visit to Vikas Khanna’s bungalow restaurant in New York ‘transported’ the office actress Jenna Fischer

Indian cuisine has a fan base that transcends cultural boundaries. Versatility and variety are the two culinary characteristics that further enhance this appeal. Most recently Jenna Fischer, best known for her role as Pam Beesly on the NBC sitcom The officehad the ‘meal of a lifetime’ at a luxurious Indian restaurant in New York City. The actress shared her experience of visiting Bungalow and treating her taste buds to a wide range of dishes. The chef behind Bungalow is the legendary Vikas Khanna. Jenna Fischer shared a photo with the Michelin-starred chef on Instagram and wrote: “We had the meal of a lifetime thanks to Chef Vikas Khanna at Bungalow in NYC. From the moment you step off the street, you are transported.”

Jenna Fischer talked about the “magical” and “divine” decor of the dining room, before singing praises about the meals she had at Bungalow. The actress revealed that the restaurant’s spice-roasted pineapple and yogurt kabab were a must-try. On the topic, she continued: “The dining room is magical and the food is like nothing I have ever tasted before. Everything was divine. Things you must eat when you go there: Yogurt Kabab and Spice Roasted Pineapple (it takes two days to make). Just trust me. You want that pineapple.”

Jenna Fischer had only kind words for Chef Vikas Khanna, praising his excellent hospitality. She concluded her post by saying, “This dining experience was filled with so much love and care thanks to Chef Khanna, who clearly puts his whole heart into every detail. Thank you for a wonderful party. I can’t wait to go back!”

According to Bungalow’s official website, the restaurant offers “a nostalgic journey to the vintage clubhouses of India.” The name has a Bengali connection as it comes from the word “Bangla”. History and culture are intertwined in this restaurant, heavily inspired by the ‘opulent clubs that helped shape Indian social life and camaraderie’. Bungalow takes food lovers on a ‘unique’ gastronomic journey focusing on ‘recipes and updated classics’ from 28 Indian states.
