Olivia Munn no longer feels ‘insecure’ about her scars after undergoing a double mastectomy.

The 44-year-old “Newsroom” star modeled Skims bras in a new campaign launched Wednesday by Kim Kardashian’s shapewear company. In one of the photos, Munn can be seen wearing Skims’ nipple bra, while in another photo shared to the company’s Instagram story, the actress shows off her mastectomy scars in a side view.

“When I look at the scars or how my breasts look different or how clothes fit me differently, I just feel a lot of gratitude,” Munn said in a Skims clip on Instagram. “The way my body looks is just a representation of how hard I fought.”

Skims said that as part of this campaign, which launched during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 10% of the retail price for every bra he sells from October 23 to October 31 will be donated to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization. .

Munn first revealed in March that she had battled breast cancer and undergone a double mastectomy. She said she got her diagnosis just two months after a normal mammogram because her gynecologist decided to calculate her breast cancer risk assessment score. “I’m lucky,” she said at the time. “We found out so quickly that I had options. I want the same for every woman who has to deal with this one day.”

In an interview on the “Today” show, Munn revealed that showing her scars in the Skims campaign was an improvised idea she came up with during the photo shoot.

“We were in the middle of the shoot and we were changing an outfit that allowed me to see more of my scars, and so the makeup artist was touching up my scars, and then we got to the double mastectomy scars and they were really hard to hide up,” she said. “And then I looked in the mirror and thought, ‘I’m done being insecure about my scars.'”

The “X-Men: Apocalypse” star continued, “It was scary, but I feel like this is something I’ve been hiding for a long time, and it just feels like I can breathe a little more.”

During a Wednesday appearance on the Susan G. Komen podcast “Real Pink,” Munn reflected on “how shocking it was for me” when she first saw her mastectomy scars. But she said she hopes it will help other breast cancer survivors see the scars that appear in a campaign for a company associated with beauty.

“I really hope that other women see them (on) billboards, online and in magazines and feel really beautiful knowing that they have the same scars as me and that I embrace them,” she said.

After Kardashian’s Skims debuted a bra with built-in nipples, Philecia La’Bounty, a breast cancer survivor, told USA TODAY: “Regardless of why Kim created this garment or what inspired it, there is a huge community out there mourning the loss of their breasts and is extremely excited about this easy, affordable and painless option to get their nipples back.”

Munn revealed in an interview with Vogue in May that she also underwent a hysterectomy amid her battle with breast cancer. The actress and comedian John Mulaney got married in July and in September they shared that they had welcomed their second child together. The girl was born through a surrogate mother.
