Donald Trump back in AZ to court the college crowd on the ASU campus in Tempe

Former President Donald Trump was scheduled to make his fifth trip to Arizona on Thursday, rallying supporters in the college town of Tempe less than two weeks before Election Day.

Trump was scheduled to speak at Mullett Arena on the Arizona State University campus at 2 p.m.

That same afternoon, President Joe Biden will fly to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport for his own visit to Arizona.

Trump narrowly leads Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential primary in Arizona, and both campaigns expect the election to be decided by a razor-thin margin.

The meeting marks Trump’s first major campaign stop in Tempe, according to an analysis of presidential campaign visits by the Arizona Republic.

In a statement announcing his trip, Trump took aim at Harris on the economy, which is a major issue for Arizona voters.

“Kamalanomics has made the American dream of homeownership out of reach for young Americans and families across Arizona,” the Trump campaign said. “President Trump’s platform focuses on high-profile issues such as the housing affordability crisis and helping first-time homebuyers.”
