NFL star Josh Reynolds was shot in the head after leaving the strip club outside Denver

29-year-old Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds and other victims were injured in the aftermath of a shooting in the Denver area last week.

Josh Reynolds, an American football wide receiver for the NFL’s Denver Broncos, was reportedly shot twice after leaving a strip club in the Denver area last week. The unprecedented shooting left him with wounds to the back of his head and his left arm.

In addition, two other men were injured in the shooting at Shotgun Willie’s in suburban Denver. One was shot in the back and another was injured by broken glass.

The 29-year-old professional footballer and the two men accompanying him were allegedly followed as they left the strip club. They were reportedly shot while driving a blue Ford Bronco. According to local news channel 9News, police received multiple 911 calls last Friday morning.

Authorities’ investigation led to the discovery of “numerous bullet defects on the rear driver’s side and windshield” of the vehicle.

Court documents revealed Reynolds and the other victims’ account of the incident as they indicated there was no disturbance at the strip club. However, several vehicles began following them after they left the establishment and headed toward the highway.

Suspects arrested in connection with the shooting of Josh Reynolds

According to Denver police, two suspects, Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza, were arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting. Surveillance footage captured Mendoza’s vehicle directly behind that of Reynolds and the other victims. Meanwhile, Charlesworth reportedly told officials he was helping a friend who had asked him to follow the victims because of their previous entanglement.

The Broncos released a statement when Reynolds skipped last Thursday’s game against the Saints after being placed on the injured reserve (IR) list with a finger injury. “Josh Reynolds was the victim of a shooting in Denver on Friday and was treated for minor injuries,” the report said. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”
