Nottm Forest 3-1 Leicester (October 25, 2024) Game Analysis

Chris Wood scored a goal as Nottingham Forest moved to fifth place in the Premier League with a 3-1 win over hosts Leicester City in the East Midlands derby on Friday, underlining their excellent start to the season.

Ryan Yates put Forest ahead with a rare goal before Jamie Vardy equalized for the home side. The visitors were much the better team in the second half and Woods’ double lifted them to a comfortable victory.

Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen made a stunning save from point-black range to deny Nicolas Dominguez, Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi hit the post and Yates missed a sitter as the visitors should have won by a bigger margin.

Forest rise to 16 points from nine games and move into the top five, despite having played a game more than the teams around them. Leicester remain in 14th place with nine points from as many games, while they continue to leak goals. (Reporting by Nick Said, Editing by Pritha Sarkar)
