Saweetie dances next to the SDSU diamonds during her Alma Mater’s homecoming

Saweetie returned to her alma mater, San Diego State University, to dance with the “Diamonds” majorette team as she always did upon returning home. Performing her breakout hit “Icy,” she and the rest of the crew performed their routine, with fans on social media praising her for coming back to celebrate with her college.

One fan said: ‘She’s so good. Well educated, paid and beautiful. What a combination,” while someone else said, “I know this is a full circle moment for her and all the other alumni diamond sisters dancing with her!!! So happy for her.” She was accompanied by the original members of her majorette crew.

Saweetie has been fully booked and busy lately. In honor of the MLB World Series, she was featured in a pre-show commercial showing her allegiance to California, representing the Los Angeles Dodgers in their quest for another banner. They are currently 2-0 against the New York Yankees.

While Saweetie grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, she spends most of her time in Los Angeles. Most fans cheered her on for representing the legendary baseball team, but others were hurt that she seemingly turned on the San Francisco Giants. Nevertheless, Saweetie is a brand darling.

It has long been rumored that Saweetie’s career is a product of cronyism. Earlier this year, she tried to set the record straight after a guest appearance on Lil Yachty’s “A Safe Place Podcast,” tweeting, “I hate the ‘nepo baby’ story.” It spits in the face of the child who grew up barely spending time with her parents because they were too busy trying to make ends meet. “I also think that Saweetie, the college girl, would have had her “wealthy family” pay for her tuition and board so she could enjoy the social experience of college instead of having to work four jobs to support herself.”

She later went on to share the post: “Saying I’m privileged ignores the girl who risked her safety by renting rooms off Craigslist because she believed in herself enough to stay in an expensive city when everyone else told her she had to move home because that’s the safe place. and a better ‘financial option.’”

Although she has ties to a few celebrities through her family, she has always been adamant about her personal journey, and the work she put in to get where she wanted to be has been documented.
