There is no reason to look at the money line. With Antetokounmpo likely active, taking the Bucks is far too expensive, while backing the Nets to ease the upset isn’t a smart move either. Avoid this option.

Against the spread

The Bucks were the fourth-worst team in passing yards in the NBA last season, going just 17-26 ATS. Although they did win and cover in their only away game, that was against the 76ers, who were without a C. Joel Embidand they closed as a mere 4-point favorite, and not nearly as a double-digit favorite. Milwaukee will also be without its third-best scoring option in Middleton.

The Nets may have struggled against both the Hawks and Magic, but they were on their way. They were also able to cover in 1 and should have a great home crowd to start the season. Expect Brooklyn to use that energy to at least keep things as close as possible NETS +9.5 (-110).
