Samuel and Kittle did not participate in practice on Wednesday. However, the Pro Bowl WR and TE delivered a limited session on Thursday and Friday. Both were officially listed as doubtful for Week 8.

Earlier this week, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that Samuel was dealing with a “pneumonia-like” illness and was hospitalized due to fluid in his lungs. Samuel was released from the hospital on Tuesday and was able to return to training on Thursday.

In San Francisco’s Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Samuel was limited, playing just four snaps in the loss.

Meanwhile, Shanahan announced Monday that Kittle was considered day-to-day with his foot injury.
