The league’s tight ends truly celebrated their day on October 27. National Tight End Day, which falls on the fourth Sunday in October, had a blast in Week 8. Several elite tight end performances were showcased in the NFL, such as Cade Oton of Tampa Bay, Travis Kelce of Kansas City, George Kittle of San Francisco, Arizona’s Trey McBride and Atlanta’s Kyle Pitts, to name a few.

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth missed the celebration as Pittsburgh did not have the opportunity to play on Sunday and instead hosted the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.

Freiermuth hasn’t had the breakout season fans were hoping for for the young TE, passing the 50-yard mark just twice so far in 2024.

Steelers QB Russell Wilson offers elite-level signal calling and could provide Friermuth with an opportunity to dominate in his late celebration of National Tight Ends Day.

Will Freiermuth finally have his breakout game in 2024? While the Giants could be a potential trap for the Steel City, Pittsburgh’s tight end could see additional targets and playing opportunities ahead of his positional unit’s late celebration at MNF.
