Video: Morning weather forecast for October 28, 2024

An approaching storm system will produce some gusty winds today, with the strongest winds in the Western Desert gusting up to 50 mph, and most of the Wasatch Front 10-20 mph. Highs will peak in the low 60s with cloud cover increasing through the late afternoon and evening. Most of the moisture from this storm will occur overnight, with snow levels starting around 7500′ and then dropping to 5000′ by Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning’s commute could be wet, so plan for extra time and perhaps even active snowfall over the mountain passes. There will be more scattered shower activity on Tuesday afternoon. Rain is 0.10-0.25 north of SLC, 0.25-0.50 SCL to Cedar City, St. George 0.10″ and eastern Utah 0.10-0.33″. Snowfall in the mountains 4-8″ generally, with the mountains north of SLC picking up smaller amounts. Matt Johnson – KSL Weather 10.28.24
