Reno Police investigate a homicide in northwest Reno | Local news

Update (28/10, 11:42 am):

A news release from the Reno Police Department revealed that the department is investigating our previously reported death as a homicide.

On October 27, just after 3 a.m., officers responded to the 7000 block of Mae Anne Avenue – at the Aviana at Tuscany Apartments – for a report of a shot fired in the area.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man who had been shot.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. At that point, the Reno Police Department Robbery Homicide Unit took over the investigation.

The suspect in the investigation has not yet been identified, but detectives believe this is an isolated incident without any threat to the public.

The victim’s identification will be released after appropriate reports are made.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Reno Police Department’s non-emergency line at (775) 334-2677, or contact Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900 or secretwitness.com.
