Dodger World Series victory parade, stadium event scheduled for Friday morning – Daily News

A victory parade celebrating the Dodgers’ World Series title will be held Friday morning in downtown Los Angeles, along with a “special celebration” at Dodger Stadium, the team announced tonight.

The parade, with team members riding in double-decker buses, will begin at 11 a.m. at Gloria Molina Grand Park across from City Hall, 200 N. Spring St. Mayor Karen Bass will speak to officially start the 45-minute procession, which will proceed south on Spring Street, then west on First Street, south on Grand Avenue and west on Fifth Street, ending in the area of Fifth and Flower Streets.

Fans planning to attend the parade were “strongly encouraged” to take public transportation, due to “significant street closures and limited public parking.”

After the parade, the team will travel to Dodger Stadium, where the ticketed event will begin at 12:15 p.m.

According to the team, the parking gates at the stadium will open at 8:30 a.m. and the stadium entrance gates will open at 9 a.m. There will be food and merchandise for sale. In-stadium entertainment will be provided prior to the team’s arrival, including coverage of the game on DodgerVision scoreboards.

“All Dodger Stadium guidelines and rules apply to this event, including the reminder not to bring signs, bags or other items not permitted under our policies,” a statement from the team said.

The team noted that “due to logistics, traffic and timing, fans will not be able to attend both events (the parade and the stadium party).”

Dodger officials said a portion of proceeds from the stadium event will be donated to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, “which addresses the most pressing issues facing Los Angeles with a mission to bring education, health care, homelessness and social justice to all Angelenos to improve. .”

Both the parade and stadium events will be broadcast live in their entirety on Spectrum SportsNet LA and on local TV stations. The television broadcast is expected to start at 9:30 am

No immediate information was available on the process for obtaining tickets for the stadium event.
