    Adidas settles with Kanye West after anti-Semitic comments

    Adidas has reached a settlement with American rapper Kanye West following his anti-Semitic comments that prompted Adidas to cut ties with the celebrity, the brand announced on Tuesday.

    “There were tensions over many issues (but)… both sides said we don’t have to fight anymore,” Adidas CEO Bjorn Gulden said. BBC.

    In October 2022, Adidas announced an immediate termination of its partnership with West following the artist and designer’s offensive behavior and anti-Semitic comments.

    “Adidas does not tolerate anti-Semitism or any other form of hate speech,” the company wrote in a statement. “(West)’s recent comments and actions are unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values ​​of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.”

    The rapper then had his X/Twitter and Instagram accounts restricted, with the social media platforms saying they had removed his posts that online users had condemned as anti-Semitic.

    Adidas has since discontinued West’s Yeezy collection BBC reported that the brand plans to sell the shoes at the stock price by the end of 2024.

    In December, West apologized on Instagram in Hebrew about his past behavior, and earlier in 2024, he declined to comment on the war between Israel and Hamas when a fan on X asked him about it.

    “I don’t have enough information on that,” he said. “There is love for everyone, but don’t include me in that conversation.”
