Jameson Williams could face a weapons offense charge

Lions receiver Jameson Williams is currently waiting to see what prosecutors do regarding an incident that occurred earlier this month. Ultimately, prosecutors could decide to charge Williams with weapons offenses.

Via Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, that is a possible outcome of the ongoing assessment of the situation. Williams could also be charged with a crime. Ultimately, Williams may not be charged at all.

Williams had a gun in his brother’s car during a traffic stop. He did not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Prosecutors are also investigating the failure to arrest Williams at the scene of the incident. The police officers could file charges themselves.

It’s all happening while Williams is serving a two-game suspension for violating the NFL’s PED policy. He will be eligible to return after Sunday’s game against the Lions.

Williams could be suspended again on the weapons charge.
