It’s Halloween again and two things are inevitable: the candy runs out before a young crowd of trick or treaters knocks on your door, and social media feeds are flooded with celebrities in costumes.

To save you some aimless scrolling, here are some of the best celebrity Halloween costumes we saw this year.

Janelle Monae was virtually unrecognizable as the endearing alien

Janelle Monae appeared as ET the Extra-Terrestial from the 1982 film, wearing some incredible prosthetics while appearing in a Halloween special of the Jennifer Hudson show.

She is known for going the extra mile with her costumes told Hollywood Reporter: “Halloween is such a happy place for me, it has been that way since I was a kid.

“It opens up a broader conversation about how do we become agents of joy? How do we become agents of happiness?

“Bringing Halloween experiences and creative experiences is heart work, not hard work. I do this because my heart needs it.”

Lizzo definitely wins the prize for most current Halloween costume.

She dressed up as a fake weight loss drug, which was created in a recent episode of South Park that made fun of her body positivity message.

The costume also served as a response to online speculation that her recent weight loss was fueled by the drug Ozempic.

The singer posted on Instagram in September: “When you finally get Ozempic charges after five months of strength training and a calorie deficit…”
