Heidi Klum’s Halloween costumes are always epic. Look at how she has dressed over the years

NEW YORK (AP) — Halloween has many traditions, from candy to jack-o’-lanterns — and the annual spectacle of Heidi Klum’s costume.

The supermodel and TV personality loves to surprise her guests with her elaborate costumes, such as in 2022, when she arrived at the event at the end of a fishing line, wearing a slippery worm costume.

“I just wanted to be something random,” she explained, lying on the ground for maximum worm-like effect. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone be an earthworm.”

Last year, she enlisted the help of several Cirque du Soleil performers for the tail feathers of her peacock costume.

“There’s a lot of planning involved, you know,” Klum said through her peacock beak, with husband Tom Kaulitz next to her, dressed as an egg. “Because you have to have an idea first.”

At her 2008 party, she dressed as Kali, the Hindu goddess of death and destruction – complete with multiple arms, dangling heads and a deep coat of blue body paint.

Klum told The Associated Press that she would immediately plan her look for next year. “After tonight I’m going to think about what I’m going to do next year. It always has to be different. Very different,” she said.

Other notable Klum costumes over the years include a giant Transformer, a clone (complete with several Klum lookalikes), an older version of himself, and an alien experiment gone wrong.

The star has also transformed into a terrifying butterfly, a monkey, a cat, a crow – and cartoon characters including Jessica Rabbit and Fiona from ‘Shrek’.

Her tip for those still trying to decide what to wear this Halloween? Leave the store-bought masks at home.

“Personally, I don’t like it when people hide behind those full masks. I prefer when people are a little creative and play with their faces, when they put on a lot of makeup,” she told the AP in 2007. “That’s always what I like most about me, I get really scary with faces .”
