US presidential election 2024: Forbes poll shows Harris narrowly leading Trump

A recent Forbes poll released Thursday (October 31) shows Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has a “thin lead of one point” over Republican candidate Donald Trump.

The new national HarrisX/Forbes poll marked a statistical tie just a week before the November 5 election, but here’s the plot; one in ten voters could change their mind at the last minute.

The poll showed Harris leading Trump with 48-49 percent of the vote.

The poll was similar to Forbes’ last survey a week ago, which found Trump with a 49 to 48 percent lead, including “thin people.”

The poll also showed the vice president leading with 49-48 percent of the vote in the seven battleground states likely to determine the winner.

About 10 percent of potential voters and 16 percent of registered voters are still considering their choices, which simply means the results could be anything.

‘Deceptive manipulation’ of Harris’ ’60 Minutes’ interview

The Forbes poll came the same day Trump sued CBS News for $10 billion over a Harris interview that aired on the agency’s “60 Minutes” news program in early October, saying the alleged lawsuit was misleading.

The complaint alleged that the network aired two different responses from Harris in response to a question about the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Trump has repeatedly attacked the network on the campaign trail over the episode and has threatened to revoke CBS’ broadcast license if elected. CBS has said Trump has withdrawn from his own planned interview with “60 Minutes.”

The version that aired during the “60 Minutes” program on Oct. 6 did not include what the lawsuit calls a “word salad” response from Harris about the Biden administration’s influence on Israel’s war effort.

“Former President Trump’s repeated claims to 60 Minutes are false,” a CBS News spokesperson said. “The lawsuit Trump filed today against CBS is completely baseless and we will vigorously defend against it.”
