Ryan Reynolds responds after Martha Stewart says he’s ‘not that funny’ in real life

Ryan Reynolds has responded after Martha Stewart took a cheeky swipe at the actor, saying he’s “not that funny” in real life.

Businesswoman and TV personality Stewart, 83, made the comments in November from Bilt Rewards Rent for free game show, after being asked which celebrities she thought respondents had named as the most fun to be around.

Stewart correctly guessed her good friend Snoop Dogg, but she was surprised by the next person on the list: Deadpool star Reynolds.

“He’s probably on the list just because he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face,” she said, before adding, “And you want to know something? He’s not that funny in real life. No, he’s not that funny. He is very serious.”

Stewart said she would “take Ryan off the list, and I’d put someone else on.”

As for who she would replace the actor with, Stewart said: “George Clooney, because he’s fun. George is a lot of fun to be around.”

She clarified that Reynolds “is a good actor. He can be funny, but he’s not funny. Maybe he can become funny again.

“I’m going to get in trouble,” she added. “He’s my neighbor.”

In response to the backlash on X/Twitter, Reynolds wrote: “I disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a kilometer or so.

Stewart also recently made headlines for publishing a scathing review of a new documentary about her by filmmaker RJ Cutler, saying it was “shocking” how little of her archive he used despite having “full access.”

And she talked about her day in solitary confinement while at the Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia.
