How many people have voted in Oklahoma so far? Day 2 early voting totals

play

Thousands of Oklahoma voters have cast early ballots in person for the November 2024 election.

This year, not only is the next U.S. president on the agenda, but also a controversial judicial retention vote and four of the five U.S. House districts.

Here’s what we know so far about the early vote totals.

How many people have voted in Oklahoma so far?

In-person early voting began on Wednesday, October 30 and runs through Saturday, November 2.

In the first two days, more than 158,000 Oklahomans turned out statewide to cast their ballots. That is already greater than the number of voters (152,126) who participated in early voting in November 2016, and almost as many as in November 2020 (167,185) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, 80,000 Oklahomans showed up to vote, while more than 76,000 voted on Thursday.

However, in both the 2016 and 2020 elections, there were only three days of in-person early voting. It wasn’t until 2022 that Oklahoma added a fourth day of early voting ahead of the general election.

Between the first two days, more than 100,000 of the early voters were Republicans and nearly 40,000 were Democrats. In addition, 731 libertarians participated in the early voting and more than 16,000 independents.

In addition, more than 130,000 absentee ballots had been mailed out by county election boards as of Friday. Of these, 91,560 had been returned.

When can we see early voting results in Oklahoma?

Although votes will be cast days before the actual election, either through in-person early voting or absentee voting, results cannot be released to the public until 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Once counting begins, results will appear at oklahoma.gov/elections, sorted by absentee ballot, early voting or Election Day ballot.
