BRONX, NY – The Fordham University Rams continue the 2024 season, Fordham’s 124th varsity season, by hosting the Colgate University Raiders for a Patriot League game at Moglia Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 2, 1 p.m.


Saturday’s game is Fordham’s Salute to Service Game. The first 500 students will receive a free exclusive Fordham camouflage hat.


The match will air live on SNY and streamed on ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch (pbp) and Grant DelVecchio (analyst) and will air live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and wfuvsports.org with Lou Orlando (pbp) and Evan Harkin (analyst) the taking care of the announcement work.


Fordham enters the game with an 0-8 overall record, 0-3 in the Patriot League, following a 33-19 Patriot League loss to Lehigh last Saturday, while Colgate enters the game with an overall record of 2- 6, 1-1 in the Patriot League, following a 51-17 nonconference loss at Merrimack last week.

Saturday’s game will be the 36th meeting between Fordham and Colgate on the court. The Raiders lead the all-time series, which started in 1989, 26-9. The Rams won the 2022 meeting, 52-38, at Moglia Stadium on Nov. 19 as Tim Democrat completed 33 of 51 passes for 454 yards and six touchdowns, while Trey Sneed rushed 30 times for 230 yards and one score.


A few notes about the game:


• The Fordham Rams have thrown the second-most touchdown passes of any NCAA FCS school over the past three years.


• The Rams threw a school-record 58 goals in 2022 (56 from Tim DeMorat’s who set a school and Patriot League record), and 26 from the quarterback CJ Montes last year, and four this year, for a total of 88.


• Fordham senior linebacker James Conway has 417 total tackles, second on Fordham’s career list. He’s just eight tackles away Ryan Groenhagen‘s Fordham career record.


• Conway was named a finalist this week for the FedEx Doris Robinson Award, an award that honors an FCS student-athlete who exemplifies excellence on the field, in the classroom and throughout the community.


• Fordham senior running back Julius Loughridgewho has rushed for more than 100 yards twice this year, has 2,695 career rushing yards, sixth on the Fordham all-time rushing list.


• Loughridge also has 24 career rushing touchdowns, which ranks eighth all-time for the Rams.


• Graduate student defensive backs Nahil Perkins is tied for third in the NCAA FCS in passes defended, averaging 1.5 per game.


• Freshman kicker Bennett Henderson has converted his last five field goal attempts, three of which went for more than 40 yards, and has now made seven of his nine three-point attempts this year.


• Henderson is tied for third in the Patriot League in field goals/game (0.9) and second in field goal percentage (77.8%).


• Fordham senior linebacker James Conwaysenior defensive lineman Matt Jaworskiand junior quarterback CJ Montes were named 2024 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Team.


• Fordham will be represented by six captains in 2024: Senior defensive lineman Matt Jaworskigraduate student wide receiver Mekai Feltongraduate student offensive linemen Ryan Joyce (serving as captain for the second year in a row), graduate student defensive back Nahil Perkinsand graduate student linebacker Mike Courtney.


• Two former Fordham Football Rams are currently on NFL rosters. Run back Chase Edmondswho was drafted in the fourth round by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2018 draft, is a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but will miss the 2024 season due to an injury at offensive lineman Nick Zakeljwho was selected by San Francisco in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL draft and is entering his third year with the 49ers.
