The original date for Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson was set for July 20, but the fight had to be postponed when the boxing icon developed an ulcer during a flight. He needed medical attention and the doctors told him to take a break from training.

However, he insisted that he was fine and that the fight should continue. Ultimately, the decision was made to push the date back to November 15, and it appears there are now minimal roadblocks holding up the fight.

The fight will appear on both men’s professional records despite slightly modified rules, including two-minute rounds and 14-ounce gloves. Paul is 10-1 as a professional and actively competes, while Tyson’s 50-6 hasn’t changed since the 2005 fight with McBride.

Ahead of the fight, one of the big controversies surrounding the fight is Tyson’s old age. He turned 58 this summer and last took part in a low-stakes exhibition match in November 2020.

The last time he held heavyweight gold was in the late 1990s, when he defeated Frank Bruno for the WBC title at the age of 29. Jake Paul was not yet born at the time of that fight and many find it irresponsible to put fighters in the ring with such an age difference.

However, if the reviews are written online, ‘Iron Mike’ won’t read them. He recently received a series of questions from Netflix for a social media video, including questions about his social media activities.

The social media team asked him, “What’s the funniest thing you’ve read about yourself on the internet?” Tyson responded that he cannot read what is written about him online because he is not sure how to access the Internet.

“I don’t read the Internet or look at the Internet,” he noted. “I don’t know how to get on the internet. I know how to turn it on, but I wouldn’t know what to press and how to press it or how to spell it to get on the internet, I wouldn’t know how to do that, no.”
