The teams have four wins each as the Chicago Bears head to State Farm Stadium to take on the Arizona Cardinals.

Arizona may be on a two-game winning streak, but our Bears vs. Cardinals expect Chicago to win on the moneyline despite being a slight underdog.

My analysis
The Chicago Bears sit at the bottom of the NFC North and now face a trip to play the Arizona Cardinals, who are at the top of their division, and a team that is on a two-game winning streak. Despite their vastly different divisional positions, the reality is that these teams are much closer than it seems. Both have four wins and have been small favorites since the start of the competition.

The Bears are at the bottom of the division, but just two wins away from the top in a truly stacked NFC North where the other three teams might be Super Bowl contenders. Meanwhile, the NFC West may have the Cardinals at the top, but they are tied with both the Niners and the Seahawks and are just one win ahead of the Rams, who take the bottom spot. The Cardinals may be the favorite now, but I’ll take the Bears to win outright.

The Cardinals come into this with a negative points differential, despite being at the top of their division. There is a big gap between the 178 they have scored and the 205 they have allowed.

State Farm Stadium hasn’t become a fortress this year and they are 2-2 on home soil. The offense is good, but they are not among the best in the league. They average 22.3 points per game, even lower than the Bears, who are at 23.3. In terms of offensive DVOA, they are in the top half of teams in the NFL, but only just, at 13th, although that is a whopping 12 spots higher than the Bears.

It’s been a tough start to the season for Caleb Williams, with the ups and downs you’d expect from a rookie quarterback, even though he was drafted first overall in April. In last week’s loss to the Commanders, Williams posted his worst performance since the season opener, rushing for just 131 yards. Before the farewell, he was really showing signs of improvement. In the three previous games, he had gone from one passing touchdown to two and then to four, all with a QB rating above 100 and just one interception.

He has the talent to excel in this league, and the Cardinals defense will give him the platform to do that.

The Cardinals have the seventh-worst record against the pass, giving up 235.6 yards through the air each game. Even when Williams isn’t at their best, they can get the job done on the field, with the team also sitting seventh in last place. This defense doesn’t take anything particularly well and ranks 26th in DVOA for a reason: they’re downright bad.

Chicago’s defense will make the difference on Sunday. While the Bears aren’t electric on offense, they are solid defensively; 11th against the pass and 14th against the run. They are a capable unit that will keep the Bears in the game long enough for their offense to take advantage of the Cardinals’ soft underbelly.

Kyler Murray Under 214.5 passing yards

D’Andre Swift anytime touchdown

In addition to our best bet for Bears vs. Cardinals, we’re also going to back Kyler Murray to throw Under 214.5 passing yards. He has only exceeded that number twice all season and has averaged 204.7 yards per game. These Bears’ defense is strong, holding their opposition to 199 passing yards per game.

In the final stage, D’Andre Swift must score. He scored four touchdowns all season, but those came in each of the past four games. He has achieved high volume during that spell, with between 16 and 21 carries in each game. If he continues that, he has a great chance of scoring again.
