Eagles vs. Jaguars: Live score updates, highlights, injury news

The Philadelphia Eagles are back at Lincoln Financial Field to take on Doug Pederson’s Jacksonville Jaguars. The Birds, home favorites by 7.5 points, are going for their fourth straight win while rocking their alternate Kelly Green uniforms (aka their best uniforms).

If all goes according to plan, the Eagles will leave Week 9 with a 6-2 record. If the Eagles can’t beat a bad and broken Jags team, the goodwill they’ve built up in recent weeks could quickly disappear as they fall to 5-3.

FIRST QUARTER

  • The Jags won the coin toss and elected to defer, putting the Eagles on the attack first. Ben VanSumeren immediately reported as eligible and officially registered a start as a fullback. Jalen Hurts threw a leaping AJ Brown over the middle on the first play of the scrimmage. Saquon Barkley’s first touch went five yards up the middle. Facing third-and-5, Hurts hit Grant Calcaterra at the marker for the game’s first first down. Facing third and second, a Kenny Gainwell run picked up just one yard. Facing fourth-and-1, the Eagles lined up for a Brotherly Shove… and DeVonta Smith gestured to the slot… but Jack Stoll got out of the way early for a false start. A Braden Mann punt forced Sydney Brown to force a fumble on the Jags returner for a Kelee Ringo recovery! The Eagles took over at the plus 20 yard line. A Hurts throw to…BVS…didn’t yield a win. Then Hurts uncorked one for Barkley on the wheel route and the running back made the over-the-shoulder grab for the score! Great throw, great catch. EAGLES 7, JAGUAR 0.
  • Zack Baun had a pretty nice pass breakup for a linebacker falling into coverage against a wide receiver. He then made a tackle for a short Jag gain. Dude is just everywhere. Facing third-and-7, Trevor Lawrence Parker Washington was able to hit past the marker for a first down, with Quinyon Mitchell allowing the catch. Facing third and fourth, Josh Sweat reached Lawrence for an 8-yard sack. Milton Williams also had good pressure in the middle to force Lawrence to lower his eyes.
  • The Eagles took over at their own 11-yard line. Facing third-and-12 after Hurts tried to run but was sacked, Barkley made a false start. Facing third-and-16, Hurts completed a pass to Calcaterra just in front of the sticks. Gained zero yards, three-and-out. Will Shipley made a nice tackle on point coverage.
  • The Jags took over at their own 41-yard line. Facing third-and-5 after Nakobe helped Dean break up a pass, Lawrence’s third down throw was called off. Three-and-out.
