Cooper Kupp will play in Seattle for the first time since 2021 | Professional sports

The Kupp family ordered 37 tickets from the Los Angeles Rams for this Sunday’s game in Seattle, the first time Cooper Kupp has played at Lumen Field since 2021.

Jake Kupp, Cooper’s grandfather and a member of the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame as an offensive lineman, said Cooper looked healthy last week when he caught five passes for 51 yards and a touchdown in a 30-20 win over Minnesota. The Davis and Eastern Washington graduate played 58% of the Rams’ 72 snaps in his first game back after missing six weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Another high ankle sprain in 2022 required surgery and kept Kupp out of LA’s season finale at Seattle in January 2023. He spent much of the rehab season before a hamstring sprain in August 2023 forced Kupp to miss the team’s first four games, including the season. opener in Seattle.

The last time he played at Lumen Field, Kupp caught seven passes for 92 yards, the second-lowest total he posted during his historic NFL Offensive Player of the Year season. Jake Kupp said he largely ignores talk of Cooper’s injuries, viewing them as more flukes than evidence of a trend.

β€œI’ve seen pictures of him going through training camp and he’s really built himself up,” Jake said. β€œIn my view, he could very well return to his 2021 year.”

Cooper started the season on a high note, catching 14 passes for 110 yards in a Week 1 loss to Detroit. After losing four of five games, LA has won two games in a row and put itself back in a wide-open NFC West race, just a half-game behind Arizona, San Francisco and Seattle.
