Seahawks’ Geno Smith throws two touchdowns in the final minute of the half

SEATTLE – In the first half of Sunday’s game, the Seattle Seahawks lost a total of 44 yards on a pair of botched snaps and two dropped two passes, one of which bounced to a Los Angeles Rams defender for an interception.

Despite all the sloppiness, they took a 13-3 halftime lead at Lumen Field thanks to a pair of touchdowns less than a minute apart, sandwiched around a Riq Woolen interception.

After their first five possessions ended with four punts and the interception coming off the hands of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Seattle’s offense finally woke up. Geno Smith hit Tyler Lockett for a 30-yard touchdown to cap a nine-play, 70-yard drive, although the PAT was blocked.

Woolen then collected a deep ball from Matthew Stafford intended for Puka Nacua to give Seattle the ball back. Smith-Njigba, atoning for his earlier drop, caught a 46-yard pass to get the Seahawks into Rams territory and then caught a 26-yard touchdown two plays later to cap a wild sequence.

More good news for the Seahawks: They won’t have to defend Nacua for the rest of the game after the Rams receiver was ejected for taking a hit on Tyrel Dodson after Woolen’s pick.
