Vikings Postgame Report: The Minnesota Vikings beat the Indianapolis Colts 21-13, improve to 6-2

Welcome to the Vikings Postgame Report. The Minnesota Vikings beat the Indianapolis Colts 21-13 at US Bank Stadium on Sunday night to improve to 6-2. The first half ended with a 7-0 score that stemmed from the Colts hitting a scoop-and-score on a Vikings sack fumble in the second quarter. The Vikings tied the game early in the third quarter with a four-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Addison. The Vikings added two more touchdown passes in the second half to Jalen Nailor and Josh Oliver to take a 21–10 lead. The Colts added a field goal in the back of the 4th, but the Vikings recovered a late onside kick to seal the victory. Sam Darnold was 28 of 34 for 290 yards passing, threw 3 touchdowns and had 2 interceptions. Aaron Jones led the Vikings’ running attack with 64 yards on the ground and 18 yards through the air. Justin Jefferson again led the receiving game with 137 yards through the air. Kicker Will Reichard missed his first two field goal attempts of the season, but was perfect with his three extra points. Defensively, Jonathan Greenard added two sacks, Jihad Ward also had a sack, Harrison Smith recovered a fumble and Byron Murphy Jr. grabbed his second interception of the season.

Paul Allen and Pete Bercich split the victory at US Bank Stadium, including: the defense making a big move against the Colts’ rushing play, Cam Robinson replacing Christian Darrisaw, the dominance in time of possession, the consolation of Darnold by throwing to Hockenson, and take a look ahead at the Vikings’ upcoming road schedule.

Additionally, Kevin O’Connell and Sam Darnold spoke about the win at the post-match press conferences. All this and more is in tonight’s edition of the Vikings Postgame Report.
