“That breaks a record that stood at 54,000 in 2008,” says Mike West of the BOE.

With only one day left to vote in person, people are making sure they have a say in America’s future.

The lines were long on Saturday. Some people told 19 News they waited more than an hour to cast their votes.

“This tells us that people are very excited about voting,” West said. “They are very passionate about voting, and they can’t wait to get here and make their voices heard.”

West says they’ve added more parking options to make the voting experience more seamless.

To vote in person you need a valid ID.

Some examples include an Ohio driver’s license, passport, or military ID.

More than 170,000 people have requested a mail-in ballot, and they are running out of time to return them.

“Monday is the postmark deadline,” West said. “So if you go on Monday, go early in the day to make sure it gets postmarked.”

If you can’t vote on Sunday, remember. You cannot vote early on Monday.

But don’t worry, you can always vote on Election Day, Tuesday.

“We think it will be very busy,” said West. “We hope for a turnout of 70 percent or more.”
