If you are not among the more than 40% of registered voters in Vermont who have already cast their ballots, you will need to go to your polling place on Election Day. Here’s what you need to know about voting in person, including how, when and where to cast your vote.

How to find your polling place

If you vote in person on Tuesday, your voting location will depend on the municipality or city in which you live.

While some Vermont towns may have just one polling place, others may not have their own polling place or may have multiple polling places. To find yours, log into the Vermont Secretary of State’s My Voters page. Once you are logged in, you can scroll down to find the name, address and hours of your polling place.

You can also find all the state’s polling places on this interactive map, as well as an Election Day FAQ compiled by the Vermont Secretary of State’s office.

Opening hours of the polling station

Although all polling places close at 7 p.m. Tuesday, not all locations in Vermont will be open at the same time. Some are open from 6:30 am, others only at 10 am

You can find the time your polling place opens using this interactive map from the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office. Simply find your location and click on it to see what time it opens as well as the address.

Please note that you may also experience wait times at the polls. These can be especially long during periods of high traffic, such as before 9am and after 5pm, when many are on their way to work or home. The lunch hour could also contribute to another busy time at the polls.
