Kari Lake adds AI to her polls

Today an episode with campaign-related news items from all over the country.

* NBC News’ latest national poll showed Kamala Harris and Donald Trump tied at 49% each. The latest ABC News/Ipsos national poll showed the Democratic vice president narrowly ahead, 49% to 46%. (Click on the links for additional information on the surveys’ methodology and margins of error.)

* The latest set of New York Times/Siena College polls showed Harris narrowly ahead in Nevada, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Georgia, while the former Republican president was leading in Arizona. The same set of surveys found candidates tied in Pennsylvania and Michigan. (Click the link for additional information about the survey’s methodology and margin of error.)

* Speaking of the Keystone State, the latest Washington Post poll in Pennsylvania showed Harris leading Trump by the narrowest margin, 48% to 47%.

* The Democratic nominee unveiled her final ad this weekend, a two-minute commercial — longer than the usual 30-second spots.

* In the U.S. Senate race in Arizona, Republican Kari Lake told Politico why she is confident in her chances, despite recent polls putting her behind Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego showed: “Our polls are a little different. We use opinion polls, but we also combine it with AI, which reads everything that happens on social media and on the internet.”

* While Harris focused on a “unity message” the final weekend before Election Day, Trump told an audience he views the Democratic Party as “demonic.”

* In the battle for the US Senate in Wisconsin, Republican Eric Hovde appears increasingly fixated on the sexual orientation of Senator Tammy Baldwin, despite the fact that Wisconsin voters did not seem to care that the Democratic incumbent president was a lesbian when they elected her in 2018 and 2012.

* And while Harrison Ford isn’t known for his political activism, the actor has endorsed Harris and appeared in a video explaining why he got involved this year.
